Marcille is kind, intelligent, principled, and loyal to her friends. However, she can also be very high-strung and has a difficult time dealing with things far outside her comfort zone (such as eating monsters). She has a lot of confidence in her magic ability due to her background, and can feel lonely when she's unable to help the party. She was one of the best students at the Magic Academy, where she joined the research program specializing in dungeon-making; this is where she met [Falin](https://anilist.co/character/130508/Thorden-Falin), and is still her closest friend to this day. Marcille can also be a bit naive at times, believing that friendships alone can keep a party together.

Chilchuck is shrewd, practical, and sharp-tongued. He refuses to take jobs unless he is paid in advance. His specialties are lockpicking and identifying and disarming traps. He's more open to eating monsters than [Marcille](https://anilist.co/character/127292/Donato-Marcille) is, but like her, draws a hard line at humanoids. He generally goes along with whatever the party does, but will speak frankly when they do something that can get them killed. His job as the party rogue puts him on edge, as failure to undo or avoid traps can lead his companions to immediate mortal danger. When his party members ignore his warnings, he quickly becomes agitated. He prefers to keep his private life separate from his work, so he doesn't tell his party a lot about himself.
